In essence, escape rooms are immersive experiences that encourage teamwork, solving puzzles and finding clues to complete an objective. They are educational, cognitive and learning experiences; escape rooms provide a gaming experience like no other. You are given a mission and placed into a themed room where you must explore to find hints and clues. You may find a container that needs a passcode to open, or a lock that needs a key. If you search hard enough, you can figure out passcodes, open all the locks, find hidden items, and ultimately free yourself.  Beginners, don't worry...we offer unlimited hints and will be there for you every step of the way.

When you reserve your Escape Game, you have the room for one hour. Each game is designed for one hour of intense fun! Plan to spend 15 minutes prior to each game preparing and briefing for your mission, and 15 minutes after each game to debrief and take photos.  You will have a countdown timer in the room that lets you know how much time you have remaining in the game.

Don’t let your claustrophobia keep you from experiencing the fun! For the safety and enjoyment of all players, a participant may exit a live room escape game at any time if things get too real. Keep in mind, once you exit you can’t re-enter.  

The objective of an escape room game is to get out before the clock runs out, but finding an escape isn’t always easy. Many groups get close but come up a little short of escaping. You can escape the room one of two ways:

1. Solve the Clues – Use your wits, critical thinking and communication skills to work with the other players and solve the clues. Solve them all before the clock strikes zero and the locked escape room will open.
2. Ask to Leave – You’re not really trapped inside for an hour. You can ask to leave at any time. Just remember, once you leave you can’t re-enter the escape game.

Our rooms are not scary (they are not "haunted houses") but our Murder in Apartment 102 room does have blood and gore and is not recommended for children under 10.

We ask that no food or drink is taken into the game rooms. Alcohol is strictly prohibited on our premises. 

Break the Code welcomes players of all ages. Our games are designed for players that are 12 and older, but younger players can certainly get in on the action if their parent/guardian would like them to participate. Don’t underestimate younger players – you never know when their smaller hands, and younger minds, will come in handy. 

While we recommend our games for ages 12 and up, we do allow younger players at the parent's discretion, but some of the game content may be too difficult for them. A paying adult, 18 or older, must participate with anyone that is under 16. Also, any participants under the age of 18 will need a parent or legal guardian to sign their waiver. NO EXCEPTIONS! Please note that our staff cannot watch babies or small children while you are participating in the room.

Each Escape Room game has its own GameMaster, who will be with you every step of the way. Your GM will greet you, take you to your room, explain the room and the rules, and then watch your game remotely from our Control Room. Any time you need a hint, just ask.

We do prefer you to book your reservation ahead of time online through our booking site. This allows you to fill in the participants' information, fill out the waivers, and make sure the room is yours at the specified time that you want to play. If you decide at the last minute you'd like to try the game and come into our lobby, we'll be happy to assist you with making an appointment or purchasing a game to play then if we have one available. Please be aware that although we do accept walk-ins, we are reservation-based. If we do not have any reservations within 2 hours of our last time slot, we may close early. So if you arrive during business hours and there are no cars in the lot and the doors are locked, we have closed early due to not having any reservations for our later time slots.

Online reservations require a minimum of 2 paid guests to be able to reserve your time slot. If your group is larger than 2, and the others in your group would like to pay separately, just make your reservation for 2 (and pay for 2 guests). Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to add your additional guests and allow time to make the payments and fill out waiver so that you don't cut into your room time. If you are late starting your room because you were adding people and filling out waivers, we may have to cut your game short to allow the next group's room to start on time.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment to make sure everyone has signed their waivers and to ask any questions you may have before starting your game. If you are late starting your room because you arrived late, or were adding people and/or filling out waivers, we may have to cut your game short to allow the next group's room to start on time.

All participants must read our Liability and Release Waiver and MUST sign it before entry into the room. Participants under 18 MUST have their waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Please note: waivers also include information regarding damage to property within the room. Please be respectful of the room and of the people playing the game after you. You are responsible for:

1. damaged property due to excessive force and/or recklessness by anyone in your party

2. damage that causes us to cancel any rooms following yours (loss of income from the next parties)

Please be aware that when you book your room, it takes it off the reservation site completely and we are unable to reserve it to someone else. If you need to cancel, you will be able to re-schedule, but you will not receive a refund. You may choose a different time/date OR we can put the funds on a gift voucher for you to schedule at a later date. You may also set up a user account through our booking site Resova to store credits there.

Gift vouchers are sold in the amounts of per-person pricing plus tax (for example, you can buy for one person, two people, three people, etc OR for one person for one visit, two visits, three visits, etc). Your gift voucher will be used to book your adventure, so make sure it’s handy when you make your reservation. When booking online:

• Select your game, date, and time. Each gift voucher has a unique code. Enter this code in the “Enter a promo or gift voucher code” field in the shopping card and click ADD.
• Multiple gift vouchers cannot be applied to one reservation; please give us a call to book your game.
• You’ll receive a confirmation email for each card you use.
